A first stop will take place at the Valley of the Butterflies (stop from June - September): this world-renowned site of exceptional scenic beauty comprises a valley lavishly grown with plane and pine trees, crossed by gargling streams and peopled by innumerous butterflies often resting by the thousands along the tree trunks. Filerimos (stop in May and October) is a hill of 267 meters high and it used to be the citadel of ancient town of Ialysos. The itinerary then brings visitors to the village of Embonas, famous for its vineyards and top-quality wineries yielding some of the island’s best wines – yours to taste and enjoy! (Lunch on the site is optional, its price being not included in the excursion fare). Then, on to the village of Sianna (church of Saint Panteleimonas) for some history and a visit for picture-taking to the ruins of the fort of Monolithos.The castle of Monolithos, built on the summit of a huge rock standing steep and close to the sea. On the trip back, Lindos awaits to enchant you with its truly impressive citadel and the breathtaking, birds ‘eye views from above. We promise you a truly beautiful, indelibly memorable day! Lindos, (stay 3 hours) one of the most scenic and definitely amongst the most popular destinations on the island of Rhodes, lies within a mere 55 km drive from the City of Rhodes. Once in Lindos, you will have the opportunity to wander through the narrow, picturesque streets of the township, discovering the multitude of small, immaculately whitewashed traditional houses carved in the rocks of the hill dominated by the imposing citadel. While in the settlement, indulge in some shopping at the various shops, a refreshment at some café or even lunch at a traditional tavern. Your wanderings will later bring you to the Byzantine church of Our Lady of Lindos. The discovery path goes on, bringing you up the steps that lead to the Citadel – unless you’d rather climb by “taxi” – a local euphemism for one of the docile donkeys that may just as well carry you up to this famous site. Not the climbing type? Then, how about a refreshing plunge in the crystal-clear waters of Lindos beach!!! Seven Springs (1h) One of the most charming destinations on Rhodes, Seven Springs offers a cool, magical landscape, a real oasis, even in the heat of high summer, swamped in greenery. Waters come out from the springs all year around, which end up in a small lake. You get to the lake walking through a narrow tunnel of 186m. The lake exists thanks to a dam built by the Italians.

The famous Valley of the Butterflies “Petaloudes” (2h), a setting of rare natural beauty. With its myriads of panaxia quadripunctaria butterflies, it attracts thousands of visitors who follow the paths through the luxuriant vegetation and along the clear running streams. At the site, the visitor also finds a museum of natural history. Filerimos (1h) Filerimos is a hill of 267 meters high and it used to be the citadel of ancient town of Ialysos. The hill includes the foundations of the temple of Athena Polias, an early Christian basilica and a small subterranean Byzantine church. There is a road that sets off from the square that leads to the westernmost point of the hill (Golgotha). At the end of the road of Martyrdom stands 18 meters tall cross raised by the Italians in 1930. (Transfer only).

During your stroll in the village you will discover charming alleys with beautiful, white-painted houses, arched, gracefully decorated house entrances that lead into pebble-paved courtyards, Byzantine chapels, picturesque corners and enchanting, colorful bougainvilleas which adorn the facades, but also shops with souvenirs, restaurants and coffeehouses. The ancient city of Lindos, well protected by the fortress walls of the Acropolis, was once a particularly influential maritime power that experienced remarkable cultural development. Lindos, the birth town of Cleobulus, one of the Seven Wise Men of Antiquity, was admired throughout the region for its wealth, grace and strategic location. Lindos awaits you to literally enchant you with the impressive Acropolis. Below the beautiful settlement of Lindos are two beaches with calm, crystal clear waters, well protected in picturesque bays. You will continue with your tour inland, approaching the western side of the island. You will visit the castle of Monolithos, the most impressive one in Rhodes, which stands on a 236-metre-high cliff for panoramic photos. Then, you will visit the picturesque Emponas village, where the finest wine of the island is produced (optional lunch in a traditional tavern, not included in the ticket price).
